whats the difference between straight and curved shaft trimmers
Rick

Answer
Rick,

The main difference between curved shaft and straight shaft trimmers is maneuverability, and the comfort that comes along with that maneuverability.

Curved shafts are lighter and easier to control making them more comfortable for the residential user. You are able to sway the cutting diameter for longer periods of time because of the angle at which you are cutting.

Straight shafts were designed for more of a pro precision you would need for more delicately manicured lawns. If you have a lot of finite angles and areas where grass and delicate flowers meet, you may need the precision of a straight shaft trimmer.

Answer
A standard 30 weight oil is sufficient for just about any 4-cycle engine. You an use 10W30 or 5w30 if you would like.
